You should consider doing a write up if you're into it enough. The only write up that I know of is Robo's and that doesn't give any specifics on length IIRC. I understand you can't really give specifics because the end user can place the battery anywhere back there, but at least that gives them something to add to the measurement from point X.
Looks good. I might do exactly what you have done. I was going to run it under the car but I didn't care to have it that close to the fuel return line (aftermarket fuel system)
